PCB redesign
As a part of our service, we strongly recommend that you allow us to redesign the PCB for you. Our team has a lot of experience working with Altium Designer, and we will update the schematics and design the full layout of the board on your behalf. You can rely on us to generate for you the BOM, Gerber files, and everything else you need in order to go into production.
Electronic system design: the EMC fix in the design
As a result of the troubleshooting stage, we start implementing the fixes we have learned through the troubleshooting process. As an example, if we need to add a common mode filter and X and Y capacitors, we will do so in the final design if it is necessary. There is a tendency for us to add a higher level of filtering to the system once the troubleshooting phase is complete. The reason we do this is to maximize the chances of passing the EMC test.
As a general rule, we tend not to change too much from the original design; instead, we focus our modifications mostly on fixing EMC issues.
PCB layout
As soon as the electronics have been fully designed, along with the extra filtering, we will begin the next phase, which is the layout of the PCB. During this phase, it may be necessary to increase the number of layers in order to achieve the desired result. In most PCB redesigns we add at least two copper layers to the board, although it is not always the case.
Creation of Gerber files and BOM
At the end of the process, we create all the necessary data to be able to go to production: the Gerber files, the bill of materials (BOM), the pick and place file, the assembly drawing, and a copy of the Altium project file.
